a rainy day is welcome here

This morning was a rainy, relaxing morning. Perfect for a cup of tea and reading.
This lasted for a few hours then it was time to take Dan to his physical therapy.  By the time we got to the VA Medical Center the rain had stopped.  I am hoping for more rain this afternoon, we are home now and I don't have to go anywhere else today.

So far I am doing well on eating healthy..but it's only day two!  Yesterday at the grocery store, I did not buy a sweet treat from the check out lane! That may sound silly, but that is a bad habit of mine to grab some sort of candy to eat on my drive home. I am keeping a food diary and have started using
my Pam's Getting Healthy Blog. I plan on updating there time to time concerning my journey to becoming healthier.

Tomorrow Bentley has an appointment with the groomer. He is going to get a short haircut, basically shaved. We get him cut short a couple times a year.   I think he will feel better, his coat is so thick and heavy right now. Plus he loves to go the groomer and he is very well behaved for them.

Dan is doing pretty good.  Some parts of the physical therapy are taking longer and bit more difficult but he is certainly trying and doing his best. He still has a lot of knee pain and has trouble sleeping at night.  We appreciate all the thoughts and prayer for him.

  1. Hi Pam! Don't you just love rainy days? I love them, especially after we haven't had one in a while. I'm glad to read that you're doing well on your healthy eating. :) I added your blog to my reads. I am also really glad that Dan is doing good. I pray that he will continue to get stronger and stronger and his knee pain will be completely gone soon. Have a beautiful day! Big hugs!

  2. Hi Pam. I'm sorry that Dan is having a tough time with his knee. Getting older makes it take longer to heal. I hope he starts sleeping better. Good for you eating healthy! I need to get back on the wagon myself, but I am having a really tough time wanting to eat salads and other fruits and veggies again. Good luck to you! Enjoy the rain if you get more. We sure need it, but we are just sunny and hot right now. I think I'm ready for fall. Hugs!

  3. Hi Pam; It's been a long time since I've visited here. I've had such a busy summer for the first time in years. It's been both good and bad but mostly good. I put a post online about my summer.
I know what Dan is going through as I too am in P.T. For me it trying to be able to walk again without constant pain. My love and prayers are with you both. Hugs xx

  4. Hi Pam, hope the PT is doing its job for Dan.
I am also going for my back, legs and 'core' since spinal surgery.

    Rainy days can be lovely.
How wonderful that Bentley loves to go to the groomer. So many hate it that it is nice to hear of one who enjoys the pampering!

  5. Hi Pam! I would love more rainy days here, but it's so rare in our area. We sure need it.

I hope Dan heals quickly & can begin to sleep well again. I really do feel for him.

I'll have to check out your healthy eating blog. Still haven't been able to check out your oils site. The link won't work for me. Hugs
