Happy Thursday! My goodness this week has just flown by.  
Sharing a few pics I took this week. I was so happy to get these pics of this gorgeous butterfly. Not sure what kind it is.

Trumpet vines and Wisteria

Today Dan and I went out for lunch with our friends Cindy and Nick. We went to

Grandes Lagos Authentic Mexican Restaurant in Monroe. The menu was huge, so much to pick from. Dan had steak fajitas and I had chalupas. YUM!  (Sorry, couldn't find a link to the restaurant.)

Cindy and I are friends from way back,  since right after high school.  Sadly, we lost contact with each other for many years. Then we ran into each other about ten years ago, exchanged our contact info and we kept in touch with Christmas cards each year.  Then last September Cindy gave me a call, we met for dinner and talked each other's ears off! lol So much to catch up on!!  Since last September, we talk often and get together on a regular basis.  Here is a pic of the two of us at a Christmas party last December. Cindy is a wonderful friend, such a blessing to me!

Sharing about Cindy has given me an idea. I will share here, time to time  about different loved ones, friends and family. Focusing on one person at a time. Maybe do this once or twice a week?  Sounds like fun!

Let's Talk! Tuesday

Happy Tuesday..posting this kind of late in the day, but it's still Tuesday. :-)
 
1. Today is my Dad's 75th birthday! Happy Birthday Dad!

2. Dan and I took Dad and  Mom out for a birthday celebration lunch. We had a lot of fun and the food was delicious.  I took some pics but don't have them uploaded to the computer yet.

3. We placed a "birthday greeting" ad in our local newspaper today for Dad, so cool!

4.  Can't believe it is the middle of July already!  This summer is just sailing by...and no this is not our sailboat. ;-)

5. I found a recipe online that I just have to try soon..Swedish Chocolate Balls. When I do make them, I will certainly let you all know how they turn out.

6. I have been hearing, learning, studying a lot lately on Grace..God's Grace.

7. Trying to get used to my new cellphone, texting with a keyboard. I am so slow now! lol

 

8. Will get my new glasses next week..progressive bifocals!! I have had reading glasses for years. I knew my eyes were getting worse and recently I have been squinting a lot trying to watch tv, etc.

9. Why have I been so hungry for Twix Bars lately? Haven't had them in years.  SO...I ate one yesterday and one the day before..yum. 

10. Wow! Made it to 10!! 

I think I hear some thunder in the distance..hope we get a nice, non-damaging thunderstorm!

Where does time go?

Hard to believe I haven't posted here since Tuesday.  Hmmm..life gets busy, a good busy.
Dan had a couple days off this past week and it was nice spending time together. 

Lots going on this summer.  We have our big family reunion..Dan's side of the family, on Aug. 8th. We are part of the planning committe this year, so much to do.

My nephew Josh and his fiance, Kari are getting married in August! Yay! Looking forward to their wedding.

Dan and I going on vacation with some of his family in August as well. We are heading south, vacationing close to the Nashville area. Here are a couple pics of the vacation house.

July still has lots more going on. Tuesday, July 13th, my  Dad is celebrating his 75th birthday!

The last week of July I am helping with Vacation Bible School at our church. I am teaching pre-school, ages 4-5. I am really looking forward to it! Our theme this year is..

Let's Talk! Tuesday

Happy Tuesday! Talking about Saturday...

1. Enjoyed our Fourth of July Celebration on Saturday. We had a party with family and friends..good times!

2. My hubby, Dan is an excellent cook and he did all the grilling under the shelter of our new gazebo...

3. My youngest son Chris was able to come down after he got off work Saturday, yay!

4. Great to see Becky and  meet her girls..
