Green Thumb?

I wouldn't say I have a green thumb but this jade plant of ours is doing quite well.  Dan repotted it a few weeks ago and I think it looks really nice in the new pot.  This plant is so big, like a small tree. :-)

My sister gave me this plant I believe about 12 years ago and  I am not sure how long she had the plant before giving it to me.  Feel free to click on it and take a closer look. This is in our dining area and for some reason the walls look blue in the photo, they are actually a light green.

Well, I wasn't going to bring this up because I thought I would feel better by now.  I have a nasty head cold and a bit of a cough.  I was fighting it off early Sunday, but it hit Sunday night.  I have been taking some cold meds, they help some...I guess.  I am praying that is gone by morning and my body is back to normal. Wednesdays are a busy day for me. I have bible study in the morning and then I help with Rainbows at our church in the evening.

~I cry out to the Lord and He heals me. Psalm 30:2~

Be blessed!

  1. Hi Pam!

HomeGoods is owned by TJ Maxx (do you have them?- like Ross or Marshalls- but it's all home items. Great store!

We had jade plants when I was growing up and I used to snap them (the leaves) - don't ask me why. Same reason I put my fingers in snap dragons and made them talk (like a puppet) and why I popped fuscias. :)

Her's some info on a jade plant you might enjoy:
"Many value the jade plant as a vital element of traditional Chinese feng shui--the placement of objects to increase good energy--and have nicknamed it the lucky plant and the money tree. Others call jade the friendship plant." :)

That plant is 12 years old, I would say you have a green thumb for sure! I have never had a plant that long. Sorry about your cold. Hope you feel better soon. Have a wonderful Wednesday and take care.

  4. I remember having some plants like this when I worked in an office years ago in England. We called them money plants back then, not sure why?
    Hope you're feeling better today.
    hugs

  5. Hi Sweet Pam;

My grandmother and mother used to have jade plants for many years and they do grow like trees. I never had any luck with them. I guess I never gave mine the tender loving care they needed. LOL!

I pray you are feeling better my friend. Have a blessed day. love & hugs

  6. Hi Pam!
Hope you are feeling better this afternoon.
I love jade plants! My cat has a problem with eating plants so I am now down to only having tiny rose bushes in pots and african violets.
    Have a great Wednesday.

  7. Hi Pam! Wow - 12 years!?? That's amazing. I never had a green thumb, so I gave up trying years ago. My Mom could make anything grow! Your Jade is such a pretty plant.

I hope you feel better soon Pam. Try some soup - but I'm sure you already have. If you don't feel better by tonight, I hope you stay home & get well. Wouldn't want to infect all those little Rainbows. :-) Hugs Pam!!
