a month of change

This past month has brought change.  On June 29, the joyful wedding of our beautiful daughter Kelly to Josh. We gained an awesome son in law and his family are all delightful. We feel blessed to have Josh as part of our family and I look forward to getting to know his family better.
My girl is a married woman now!  Of course I am still her Mama and always will be but it will be fun to hang out with her as two married ladies.  When they start a family down the road, oh boy, it will be so wonderful! OK, getting ahead of myself!

July 15, had my first knee replacement.  Now that was a big change getting a new body part and I am recovering from that slow but sure. My loving husband, Dan has been taking great care of me. He is doing all the shopping, cooking, laundry, taking of our doggies and so much more. I am so grateful for him.  I am anticipating the complete change when my other knee is replaced and both knees are  healed.  I have a list of places I am going, things I will do.

The latest change is that Kelly and Josh are moving away in a couple of weeks. Josh was offered a job that he couldn't turn down. They will be about 3 hours away.  I am happy for them, this new job and adventure. But, I am sad that are leaving our area.  This is a Mama speaking, it may sound selfish, but I really wish they would have stayed in our area.  Going to miss them so much. I have to stop thinking about how this changes things. I know it's not far and it could of have been worse.  Just disappointed that they will be too far away to make impromptu plans with them, will be losing the comfort of having them within a short distance.  With God's help I am learning to accept all of this and I am doing my best to be supportive.  Kelly has told me several times that she will be back to visit, lots.  Thank God for that!  I need time with my girl. We will go visit them when we are able, but it will be much better to have them visit us and see friends, family and of course Bentley and Tucker!

 take care, be blessed

  1. Pam, you are right, change can be hard. Real hard. But thankfully, we accept & we adapt. Some times, the change turns out to be not as bad as we had anticipated. I'm praying, & I hope you can find little glimpse of positive things - like having a new place to go visit them at. It's wonderful that you can Skype each day too. I'm thankful you are starting to have acceptance. God gives grace when we need it. Hope you heal quickly with your knee. You've had some major changes this month! Hugs!

  2. Hugs...and lots of prayers sweetie!! You know that I understand what you are feeling about Kelly and Josh moving...I haven't forgotten when you left the area many years ago and took those 3 adorable grandsons of mine with you!! It will be hard but like Judy said...God gives us grace when we need it...and once your knees are both feeling better things will seem better in all areas....hang in there and know we love you lots!!

  3. Thanks Judy and Mom for your love, prayers and support. Mom, if i could do it over I wouldn't have gone to Florida. Thank God we finally got back home to Michigan.

  4. So many changes. I remember when my daughter moved away after she married. I had remind myself that she had grown up and now had her own life to live. Changes can be hard but thankfully we have a loving God to help us through them. Now you and Dan have a place to go for a day or two. Hugs.

  5. Hi Pam. You are sooooooooo right. Change is HARD & it never gets easier. I'm in FL along with 2 of my sons. One son in Cleveland OH, one son in New Orleans and a Dau in California. They grow up . . . they leave. It's HARD.

  6. Hi Pam! My heart aches for you. Change is such a difficult thing to accept, especially when it comes to those we love moving away. Dave's parents are actually the ones that moved away and Dave took it really hard. They moved 20 years ago and he's still hurt by it. I'm so sorry that your girl is moving from away from you but thankfully it isn't further away.

Thinking of you often, Pam. Praying that you're knee is getting stronger by the day. Hugs

  7. You really have had quite a summer. It will be hard for Kelly to be so far away, but she could be farther. It could be worse. I am sure you guys will see each other a lot. Sending lots of prayers my friend.

  9. Hi Pam. Congrats to Kelly and Josh! I lived about three hours away from home for several years. We'd come back to visit fairly frequently at first, but as time went on the visits were fewer and further between. I wish we'd had Skype back then. Someday I want to move away again, but I know my mom would not be happy, especially since my sister's death. I'm the only daughter she has left. I hope your knee is improving every day. Big hugs!
