End of August.

Hard to believe that summer is nearly over, but I am fine with that. This summer has been one of much happiness and much sadness. Dan's retirement and buying a cottage are blessings that I thank God for. We have had great times with family and friends, parties, vacation, many lovely memories have been made.
In the midst of fun, in the midst of happy memory making, our beloved dog Patch passed away. Patch went to heaven on July 8th, he was 12 1/2 years old, I am still very sad, but I felt it was time to share this, maybe it will help me, I still have so much sadness. He had an inoperable tumor, it's a long story, we did everything we could. But in the end, we had to make the decision to let him go, to end  his suffering.  I don't understand why these things happen and I never will.  I am very thankful for the years we had with him and I know I will see him again someday in heaven.  We love you  Patch, my Little Man, Baby Dog.
No dog can replace our Patch. I am sure those who have pets understand what I am saying. But after a few weeks we decided to get a puppy, we have just had him a short time. Bentley gets along with him and the puppy is a cute blessing. I will always miss Patch, but this little one brings a smile to my face.
Meet Tucker, he is a Schnoodle. (Miniature Schnauzer/Miniature Poodle)

Take care everyone.

  2. Hi Pam,
I'm so sorry for the loss of your much loved Patch. I so get how you are feeling. One of our cats passed away a few months ago, I we still miss her so much. They really do become a part of the family. Treasure all those wonderful memories. I'm sure that Tucker will weave his way into your hearts and will become such a loved and special part of your family also. (((hugs)))
So here you are talking about summer almost being over.We have just 4 days left of winter and can't wait for the spring. We've had a little taste of it already, and we are so ready!
Hope your week is full of blessings, and thanks for your get well wishes and prayers. What a difference a week has made which is amazing when this time last week the doctor was telling me I needed to be in the hospital. xxx

  4. Hi Pam! I'm so sorry about the loss of Patches! I felt like I knew him and enjoyed his antics in the snow. You know I've been there and can understand but 12 1/2 is a good long life and he had a GOOD one where he was much loved! I'm glad you had a lot of happy things this summer to help balance out the loss a little. I'm a big believer in adding to the pet family and I'm sure Bentley is enjoying the company, too. (((Hugz)))

  7. Tucker is just adorable! I understand the pain of losing a fur baby. I got Tabbie, my cat from the shelter the day after Doc died simply because I needed something to care for and hold. And of course, now there is Mandy in the mix as well! You will have many wonderful times at the cottage now that Dan is retired!
