around the yard

It has taken a while, but we finally have the majority of the yard finished. The weather played a big part in the delay of getting the sod laid. But thankfully, it has been finished for a few weeks now!
Tucker and Bentley love exploring the yard, now that is fully fenced. SO thankful!!

Now I am working on my rock garden, planting perennials and adding garden decor.
SO fun. I will share pics at a later date.

Have a lovely week.

Oops, I did it again..

I know, it has been over a month. I had planned on keeping up here, blogging most days.

What happened?

Well, let's start again, shall we?

We spent a few days at our cottage over the 4th of July.
Just Dan and I and our sweet dogs, Bentley and Tucker.

I never get tired of this view!

.  We had a good time with our friend/neighbor Rosie. Love here!

We paid a visit to Dan's Uncle Don and Aunt Jewell, while we were up there.
We love them! Such a great couple.
They have been married 69 years.
Uncle Don just celebrated his 88th birthday.

Have a happy & safe weekend!

Day 19 of 25 Day of Christmas

Day 19 of 25 Day of Christmas

Under The Christmas Tree

Wrapped a few gifts, put them under the tree.
A few minutes later I walked in on this scene.

a rainy day is welcome here

This morning was a rainy, relaxing morning. Perfect for a cup of tea and reading.
This lasted for a few hours then it was time to take Dan to his physical therapy.  By the time we got to the VA Medical Center the rain had stopped.  I am hoping for more rain this afternoon, we are home now and I don't have to go anywhere else today.

So far I am doing well on eating healthy..but it's only day two!  Yesterday at the grocery store, I did not buy a sweet treat from the check out lane! That may sound silly, but that is a bad habit of mine to grab some sort of candy to eat on my drive home. I am keeping a food diary and have started using
my Pam's Getting Healthy Blog. I plan on updating there time to time concerning my journey to becoming healthier.

Tomorrow Bentley has an appointment with the groomer. He is going to get a short haircut, basically shaved. We get him cut short a couple times a year.   I think he will feel better, his coat is so thick and heavy right now. Plus he loves to go the groomer and he is very well behaved for them.

Dan is doing pretty good.  Some parts of the physical therapy are taking longer and bit more difficult but he is certainly trying and doing his best. He still has a lot of knee pain and has trouble sleeping at night.  We appreciate all the thoughts and prayer for him.

first day of school and baby Eli

Today is Colton's and Braedon's first day of school.
Colton started Kindergarten and Braedon started Pre-K.
Here a few pics that my daughter in law, Sabrina shared on fb this morning.

While my grandsons are getting big and going to school, my sister's first grandchild, Elijah (Eli), was just born into this world on Sunday.  Congrats to my nephew  Josh and his wife Kari! Also congrats to my sister Lori and her hubby Bill!

 7 lbs.2oz
22 inches long

Dan had therapy this morning, it went well, he is making progress. I know he will be so glad when this is all over with.

This afternoon I have to take Bentley to the vet. He has a  pretty big area on his front leg that is raw..fur is gone, he won't leave it alone, keeps licking it. We discovered it this weekend, I tried home remedies hoping to avoid a vet visit.  Hope it isn't serious or too expensive.  Poor guy!

  Take care, enjoy your Tuesday.

End of August.

Hard to believe that summer is nearly over, but I am fine with that. This summer has been one of much happiness and much sadness. Dan's retirement and buying a cottage are blessings that I thank God for. We have had great times with family and friends, parties, vacation, many lovely memories have been made.
In the midst of fun, in the midst of happy memory making, our beloved dog Patch passed away. Patch went to heaven on July 8th, he was 12 1/2 years old, I am still very sad, but I felt it was time to share this, maybe it will help me, I still have so much sadness. He had an inoperable tumor, it's a long story, we did everything we could. But in the end, we had to make the decision to let him go, to end  his suffering.  I don't understand why these things happen and I never will.  I am very thankful for the years we had with him and I know I will see him again someday in heaven.  We love you  Patch, my Little Man, Baby Dog.
No dog can replace our Patch. I am sure those who have pets understand what I am saying. But after a few weeks we decided to get a puppy, we have just had him a short time. Bentley gets along with him and the puppy is a cute blessing. I will always miss Patch, but this little one brings a smile to my face.
Meet Tucker, he is a Schnoodle. (Miniature Schnauzer/Miniature Poodle)

Take care everyone.

Beauty Treatment for Bentley

We have new dog grooming business in our town, Aunt Linda's Pet Grooming. Since Bentley was in great need of a bath, we decided to have him try out the new place.
He did very well there, looks gorgeous and we really like Aunt Linda's!  I love the fact that it's right down the street, less then five minutes away. I think we will take Patch there in the near future for grooming.
Thank you Linda and staff!!
Here is our pretty boy posing.

Be blessed!

Cozy day

Bentley went to the groomer today. For him, it is an exciting few hours, full of fun. He loves getting groomed and he loves Gary his groomer.
So for now Bentley is all clean, fluffy and smelling good!

I took this pic right after we got home, he wouldn't pose so Dan had to hold him. Maybe later I can get a better pic.

It is a rainy day here, which I am fine with.
That makes for a cozy, candle lit, tea drinking day.

Happy Friday!
xoxo
