End of August.

Hard to believe that summer is nearly over, but I am fine with that. This summer has been one of much happiness and much sadness. Dan's retirement and buying a cottage are blessings that I thank God for. We have had great times with family and friends, parties, vacation, many lovely memories have been made.
In the midst of fun, in the midst of happy memory making, our beloved dog Patch passed away. Patch went to heaven on July 8th, he was 12 1/2 years old, I am still very sad, but I felt it was time to share this, maybe it will help me, I still have so much sadness. He had an inoperable tumor, it's a long story, we did everything we could. But in the end, we had to make the decision to let him go, to end  his suffering.  I don't understand why these things happen and I never will.  I am very thankful for the years we had with him and I know I will see him again someday in heaven.  We love you  Patch, my Little Man, Baby Dog.
No dog can replace our Patch. I am sure those who have pets understand what I am saying. But after a few weeks we decided to get a puppy, we have just had him a short time. Bentley gets along with him and the puppy is a cute blessing. I will always miss Patch, but this little one brings a smile to my face.
Meet Tucker, he is a Schnoodle. (Miniature Schnauzer/Miniature Poodle)

Take care everyone.

Happy Spring~antiques, lunch, a walk & flowers

Happy Spring! What a beautiful day, sunny and temps in the high 70's, low 80's.  These temps are above average for this time of year, so everyone is enjoying the nice weather.  I took Patch for a little walk down our street this afternoon.

He would not stand still for me to get a proper photo, he was so excited.

I did manage to snap a pic of some daffodils! And I took the photo while hanging onto Patch's lease, he nearly jerked my arm off.

These flowers are in the front of a house down the street. My spring flowers are not blooming yet because they are in shade for the most part. I probably won't see flowers blooming in our yard for another month. Meanwhile I enjoy all the flowers around us.

Dan and I went to one of the local antique malls, Maumee Antique Mall this morning. We had a nice look around, just bought a couple small things.
I thought this booth display was adorable.
 cuteness~
I should have bought this heart wall hanging to have for Valentine's Day.
After walking this huge place, we went out for lunch at The Seafood Restaurant.
Dan had yellow perch, I had coconut shrimp. YUM! We love this place, it's one of our favorites  for seafood.

Take care

The latest..

Well, the snow melted after a couple of days. We have had temps in the 40's and most days are sunny. I am looking forward to Spring!
It seems so strange that we were in Florida one month ago, times flies and we miss our Florida kids & grandkids!! I have so many happy memories of our visit down there.
Here is another cute pic of Braedon, that my Mom took at Disney.
Kelly, Colton and Braedon being silly!
Dan and I have taken a couple days here and there this past month checking out real estate north of here in Michigan. We are looking for vaction waterfront (inland lake) property. Right now we are looking at many different areas, we don't want to be any farther then 4 hours from home. While we were gone last week checking out property, we met up with Dan's niece Rachael and her husband Shawn for dinner at Bennigans in Big Rapids, Michigan. We had a great time!  I haven't been to a Bennigans in years!

Rachael and Shawn live in a very pretty area, lots of woods and inland lakes. It would be great if we find something near them.

Hope everyone had a lovely Valentine's Day!  Dan had to work 12 hours so we didn't go out for lunch or dinner. But that's fine, we always make sure we spend quality time together.  Even though we didn't have a "date" on Valentine's Day, here is a pic of the gorgeous flowers I got. I am sorry to say that the photo doesn't really show how pretty they were.

Here are a couple funny pics for you!
Bentley watching TV, he does this quite often!
I was helping a friends' son with a school project, the little paper character stayed with us and I journaled about it and took pics..anyway, here is a pic I took with Patch.
This photo cracks me up!!!
 Take care

Planning..

Lots of plannning going on here. We are taking a trip to Florida in January!!! YAY! We finally will be able to spend time with my son Jeremy, daughter in law Sabrina and our two little grandsons! My parents are coming with us and Kelly is trying to get a couple days off work and fly down for a long weekend while we are there. We have rented a vacation house near Clearwater which will work out so much better (and cheaper) then a hotel.  We are also going to  Orlando to take the kids to Disney World~Magic Kingdom. We are just doing one day at Disney and boy am I having trouble finding inexpensive tickets. Oh well, it will still be so fun to take them there!

Thought I'd share these funny pics of Kelly & Patch on Christmas morning. She was trying to get him to pose in front of the Christmas tree. ha ha!
She calls him over there and he lays down..

She forces him to sit up and he is stiff as a board and won't look at me!!
We both got a good laugh out of it!

Took this pic the other day of the railing going upstairs.
I wish the lights in the garland would have showed up.

Dan has tonight off, so we are going out for the day with my parents and brother Tim and his wife Jen to check out some antiques stores.  I think I've mentioned it before, but Tim and Jen have a large, historical home that they are making into a Bed and Breakfast. They are always on the look out for things to put in their house.

Happy Friday!

scenes of autumn

It is sad to see the autumn colors disappearing.  Soon all of the colorful leaves will be gone.  I wish the autumn leaves stayed on the trees longer, but that is not to be, this is all part of the seasonal changes.
I snapped a few pics out in the yard today, probably the last ones of autumn color for this year.

Love this birdhouse
Lavender is still blooming!

I can't get enough of this autumn season, wish it wasn't at the end!
Once Thanksgiving is over I will start concentrating on winter and Christmas.

Happy Wednesday

Autumn Beauty & Good Times

Sharing some of the many pics I have taken so far this autumn season.
The first several photos were taken at Hidden Lake Gardens~ Tipton, Michigan.
Dan and I have been there twice this month, we so enjoy our time together and this is one of our favorite spots.

haha, had to share this silly one!

These were taken at home, from the back of the house.

See Patch in the lower right corner?

Love this burst of color

~sunset~

I am sorry I haven't blogged lately. I have good intentions, but life has been so busy, a good busy.
My dear friend Mary, from California was here on Monday. It was a great visit!!
I wish we didn't live so far away from each other.

Here is a pic of us at Trabbic Family Farm, a local pumpkin farm.
I don't know why I wore that shirt!! It makes me laugh because I kind of blend in with all the fall colors!

Have a great weekend everyone.
