Birthdays...

Today is my hubby Dan's birthday!  I know he probably won't see this, but..
Happy Birthday Honey, I love you! xoxoxo
We didn't have a big celebration since he worked last night and has to work tonight.  I did get him his favorite,  a yummy German chocolate cake from Meijer bakery.  Kelly and I will give him his birthday presents tonight before he goes to work.

Monday night we celebrated my brother Tim's birthday at Texas Roadhouse, it was fun and I took some pics but I haven't uploaded them to the computer yet. We have more birthday parties coming up this weekend.  My nephew Jake is turning 14, his party is Friday night and my niece Megan's party is Saturday, she is turning 18.

The weather is beautiful, sunny and temps near 70.  Our Spring has been gorgeous this year! My lilac bushes are just about in bloom! Yay! Haven't taken pics yet but here is a pic from last year. I love Lilacs, they are one of my favorite flowers.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful wednesday!
Be blessed~hugs

Sleepy Time

I was going to say happy Friday, but it's nearly Saturday now! I am tired but wanted to make a short post before going to bed.

I am feeling pretty good, this cold is on it's way out. Yay!  Yesterday I did make it to lunch with my Mom, sister and sister in law.  We had a nice time and and the food was good.  Today Dan and I went to Cabela's and then we went for a drive through Hidden Lake Gardens. I took just a couple pics of some spring flowers and flowering trees. I will post them tomorrow or Sunday.

Goodnight, sweet & lovely dreams xoxox

Summer in April

Sunny and temps in the low 80's, that is forecast for today.   I enjoy each season and the changes that each brings. All of our trees are coming back to life and spring flowers are blooming.

If I feel up to it I am meeting my Mom, my sister and my sister in law for lunch  to celebrate  my sister's birthday.  It is a belated birthday  lunch because she was out of town on her actual birthday.  I  feel pretty good this morning so I should be able to make it. We are having lunch at Mongolian Barbecue.

Thought I would share one of the latest pics of my cutie grandsons Colton and Bradeon.  I wish they didn't live so far away. :(

Take care everyone, have a wonderful Thursday.

Green Thumb?

I wouldn't say I have a green thumb but this jade plant of ours is doing quite well.  Dan repotted it a few weeks ago and I think it looks really nice in the new pot.  This plant is so big, like a small tree. :-)

My sister gave me this plant I believe about 12 years ago and  I am not sure how long she had the plant before giving it to me.  Feel free to click on it and take a closer look. This is in our dining area and for some reason the walls look blue in the photo, they are actually a light green.

Well, I wasn't going to bring this up because I thought I would feel better by now.  I have a nasty head cold and a bit of a cough.  I was fighting it off early Sunday, but it hit Sunday night.  I have been taking some cold meds, they help some...I guess.  I am praying that is gone by morning and my body is back to normal. Wednesdays are a busy day for me. I have bible study in the morning and then I help with Rainbows at our church in the evening.

Nice Weekend

Happy Monday!   We had a nice weekend.  My son Chris came Saturday evening and stayed till late Sunday afternoon.  Dad and Mom came over for dinner Saturday night. Dan had the night off and he  cooked ribs, chicken and steak on the grill.  We had strawberry shortcake for dessert. Yum!

Then Sunday after church, my brother Tim and his wife Jennifer came over for lunch. I cooked meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans and corn.

It was great having Chris around the house. Good times!

Take care and God bless

Fabulous Friday

Happy Friday, a little late posting this but it is still Friday!

A few pics of our doggies, Patch (9 years old) and Mr. B., aka Bentley (8 months).   These were taken last week in our back yard.

We had to have Mr. B shaved a few weeks ago..but his coat is growing back in now.  He is one big puppy!

A sure sign that Spring is here...one of our daffodils in front of the house.

New garden flag!

Thank you everyone for your kind words about the brownie muffins.  I hope you will let me know if you bake them and what you think.

Have a super ending to your Friday!

God bless

It's A Brownie Muffin Kind Of Day

Cooler temps today and windy.  I decided to make some high fiber brownie muffins.  This is actually a Weight Watcher recipe I have had for years.

 Brownie Muffins
1 package Betty Crocker low fat brownie mix
3 cups Kelloggs's All Bran
2-1/4 cups water
1-1/2 tsp baking powder

Preheat oven 350 degrees
Pour water over the All Bran and let it soak up for about 5 minutes in a medium size bowl.
In large bowl stir together brownie mix, All Bran mixture and baking powder. Mix well until mixture is moist.
Place paper cupcake liners in muffin pan.
Fill up each of the liners to the very top.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25-28 minutes.

The recipes says it makes 12, but for some reason I always end up with 16.
I don't don't have the nutritional values, but each muffin is 1 WW point. :-)

Not the best pic..but you get the idea.  They actually taste a lot better then they look in the photo! lol

Have a wonderful day!

Love Wednesdays

Good afternoon friends. Hope everyone is having a nice week so far! It is a rainy day here, but I don't mind.

Wednesdays are a favorite day of the week for me. In the morning I attend a ladies bible study group. We have a wonderful group of women, all different ages and backgrounds. Right now we have about 14 members.  My Mom is one of the members, she joined a couple years ago, it is so nice having her in the group. We are almost finished with Beth Moore's study on Esther.  What a great bible study, I highly recommend it.

Wednesday evenings I help teach the Rainbow Club at our church, this is for children ages 3-5. I have only been doing this since January, so I am still in the the learning phase.  I love these kids, they are so precious and I look forward to seeing them on Wednesday evenings. It is also great to connect with the parents and getting to know families in the church.

We had a beautiful Easter, celebrating Jesus' Resurrection!  I am so thank for all that the Lord has done for us.  Church was awesome, lots of wonderful music,  festivities and of course a great word from Pastor George!
After church was dinner at our house. Turkey dinner with all the usual side dishes and the food others brought. YUM, it was like Thanksgiving all over again plus lots of candy. hee hee

Here are a few pics from Sunday.
